Damned If You Do; Damned If You Don’t – Lecture on the History of the Conowingo Dam

Announcement From the Susquehanna Museum at the Lockhouse

If you’ve read  Chesapeake Boating magazine you may have seen the two part article
last year called “Damned If You Do; Damned If You Don’t”.   It detailed the saga of the Conowingo Dam:  why and how it was built,  the politics involved, the technology used and, just as importantly, how it has the lower Susquehanna.

The speaker at this seasons final Elsworth Shank Lecture is the researcher and author of those articles,  Jody Argo Schroath, who  will also cover the options under consideration to mitigate the sediment issue, among other things.
