Summer Time at Kent County Beaches

There was nothing like the cool waters of the Chesapeake Bay at the beaches in Kent County, MD to draw crowds in the 20th century.  In the era before air conditioning became common, the Wilson line boats would arrive at the Betterton and Tolchester resorts with lots of beachgoers ready to enjoy a relaxing summer weekend or an afternoon on those refreshing shores.  There was lots to do at those places, including bowling, musical entertainment, dancing, boating and plenty of arcades.
