Mudd House Opens for Victorian Christmas Celebration

On a frigid, overcast Sunday the Dr. Samuel A. Mudd House in Waldorf opened for the 9th annual Victorian Christmas Celebration.   On this windswept day Confederate Civil War Soldiers huddled around campfires guarded the house, as period attired docent conducted tours of the decorated home.   The buildings and surrounding grounds that were once owned by the Mudd family have retained much of their original character from the time when the doctor treated the broken leg of John Wilkes Booth.
